Medicare Rebate
Medicare Rebate
In order to be eligible for the Medicare Rebate ($131.65) you will need a referral and Mental Health Care Plan from your GP or Psychiatrist. A Mental Health Care Plan can take a little more time to prepare than the standard appointment time, so inform your GP clinic about the purpose of the appointment so that they can allocate the appropriate length of time.

The Medicare Rebate covers an initial six sessions per year. With additional GP or psychiatric reviews, you may be eligible for up to an additional sessions. A copy of your referral from the GP is required prior to the initial appointment.

Private Payment
A GP or Psychiatric referral is not required by individuals who wish to pay for sessions without the Medicare Rebate and there are no restrictions on the number of sessions.
